Snow Days on Cape Ann are close to my heart. The Essex River is nearby. This scene captures the essence of Cape Ann under a blanket of snow.

Cape Ann is known for luring famous painters like Sargent and Homer. It is the light that they followed, painted and sought.

"Winter Sunset" leads the viewer into the scene. The home sits on the river and has a special quality of peace that has decended upon it with the fresh snow fall.
